A Strong Party Honors the Primary

Today I had the opportunity to meet Candi Noble and Forrester. Both were gracious, respectful, and took the time to shake my hand and wish me a happy holiday — and I gladly wished them the same.
Moments like that are why I believe the Republican Party is strong today.
We are a party that welcomes different ideas, honors the primary process, and allows conservatives to decide — openly and honestly — who they believe should lead. That unity, even in disagreement, is a strength.
I come from the ideology of Lincoln, who believed in freedom and opportunity.
I believe property owners should be free — and that Texans should never be taxed out of their homes.
I come from the party of Reagan, who taught us that government must be limited and accountable.
And I believe, as President Trump has shown, that bureaucracies must be tested — and if they don’t serve the people, they should end.
Those are the principles that guide me going into this election. Respect for the process. Respect for voters. And a belief that government exists to serve the people — not live on their backs.
Wishing everyone a happy holiday season.
