Immigration Isn’t the Problem — A Broken System Is

By Freddie America

People talk about immigration in Texas like it is some kind of unstoppable disaster — like it is a problem without a solution.

But here is the truth:

Immigration is only a “crisis” because politicians WANT it to be a crisis.

Not because of the people crossing.

Not because people want trouble.

Not because families are trying to hurt America.

Immigration is a crisis because leadership refuses to fix the system.

And when leaders refuse to fix the system, the people suffer — Texans suffer, immigrants suffer, workers suffer, businesses suffer, and taxpayers suffer.

1. Immigrants Come Here for One Reason — To Work

I’m not angry at immigrants.

I never have been.

Most of the men and women crossing the border come here to:

  •        Work

  •        Provide for their families

  •        Build a better life

  •        Earn an honest living

That desire makes sense — it’s the same desire that built America itself.

The problem is NOT the people.

The problem is the political game played around those people.

2. Other Countries Have Systems — Why Doesn’t America?

Countries around the world handle immigration like this:

  •        Temporary work visa

  •        Tax ID number

  •        Registered employer

  •        Employee protections

  •        No access to public benefits unless earned

  •        Clear legal guidelines

  •        Enforcement that is FAIR and CONSISTENT

But here?

We get chaos.

Why?

Because politicians prefer chaos — chaos gives them:

  •        Campaign talking points

  •        TV speeches

  •        Fundraising opportunities

  •        Fear narratives

  •        Division

If immigration were fixed, politicians would lose their favorite weapon:

fear.

3. The Real Victims: Immigrant Workers AND Honest Contractors

I speak from experience as a Texas contractor.

I’ve seen it with my own eyes:

  •        Some contractors hire undocumented workers under the table

  •        They pay them cash

  •        No insurance

  •        No protections

  •        No taxes

  •        No safety guidelines

  •        No accountability

If the worker gets hurt?

He’s told:

“Go to the emergency room.”

Then taxpayers pay the bill.

The worker suffers.

The taxpayer suffers.

And contractors like me, who follow the law, get undercut by people gaming the system.

This is not fair to Texans.

This is not fair to immigrants.

This is not fair to anyone.

Except the people abusing the system.

4. We Don’t Need Walls or Chaos — We Need RULES

America doesn’t need more political theatre.

America needs:

A functional work visa program

Legal tax ID numbers

Employment verification

Protection for workers

Protection for taxpayers

Equal enforcement

Penalties for contractors who cheat the system

A system that treats immigrants like human beings — not political pawns

If someone wants to work here?

Give them a:

  •        Work visa

  •        Tax ID

  •        Legal status to pay taxes

  •        Legal protections

  •        Legal accountability

  •        Path to employment

If they commit a crime?

Send them home.

Simple.

Fair.

Balanced.

Human.

Texan.

5. The Current System Hurts Texans and Immigrants

Texans are suffering because:

  •        Taxes rise

  •        Emergency rooms fill

  •        Schools carry invisible burdens

  •        Property taxes pay for services meant for the federal government

  •        Honest small businesses get crushed by illegal competition

Immigrants are suffering because:

  •        They are exploited

  •        They are threatened

  •        They have no safety nets

  •        They cannot report abuse

  •        They are treated like tools instead of people

Everyone loses.

Except the politicians.

6. My Plan: A Fair, Human, Texan Solution

As your Representative, I will support:

A Texas Work Visa System

(If the federal government won’t fix it, Texas must)

Mandatory employer verification

(Stop cheating the system)

A tax ID program for workers

(No more cash under the table)

Worker protections

(If you’re working here, you shouldn’t be abused)

Criminal removal

(Not workers — criminals)

Ending taxpayer burdens

(If you work here, you contribute here)

Accountability for contractors

(Level the playing field for people like me who follow the law)

This doesn’t hurt immigrants.

This doesn’t hurt Texans.

This protects both.

7. This Is Not About Politics — It’s About Morality

The politicians want us divided:

Citizen vs immigrant

Texan vs newcomer

Worker vs worker

Neighbor vs neighbor

They need us fighting.

Because if we stop fighting each other…

we will start fighting the system.

But I refuse to hate people who come here looking for the same things my own parents and grandparents searched for:

Opportunity.

Safety.

A chance.

This isn’t about left or right.

This is about fairness, dignity, and accountability.

Texas can fix immigration —

not through fear…

not through chaos…

but through common sense.

FINAL WORD

The immigration crisis isn’t caused by immigrants.

It’s caused by politicians who refuse to fix the system they broke.

I will fight for:

  •        Texans

  •        Taxpayers

  •        Workers

  •        Honest businesses

  •        Families

  •        And yes — for the immigrants who are being exploited

Because justice is justice.

Because fairness is fairness.

Because Texas can lead with strength and compassion.

We do not have to choose one or the other.

Texas can be strong.

Texas can be fair.

Texas can be free.

And Texas can fix immigration — if we have the courage to do what politicians won’t.
