My journey: From Puerto Rico to Texas, From a Young Scribe to a Fighter for Justice

People often ask me how I’m able to read the law, write federal filings, break down constitutional arguments, and stand my ground in courtrooms where most people would never dare to walk in alone. The truth is, none of this came easy — and none of it came from one moment. It came from a lifetime of moments that shaped me into the man I am today.

I wasn’t born in Texas.

I came to America when I was 12 years old, straight from Puerto Rico, barely speaking the language, trying to find my place in a world that felt enormous and unfamiliar. One day, I was sitting in a classroom doodling — just scribbling shapes on paper — when something happened that I’ve never forgotten.

I felt an impression on my soul.

Almost like the hand of God touched me.

And I heard a whisper in the back of my mind:

“Write, scribe.”

That word — scribe — stayed with me my entire life.

It became the fire inside me.

From that moment on, I wrote everything: stories, thoughts, ideas, dreams, poems, memories. Writing became the way I breathed. Writing became the way I survived. And writing became the way I honored the heroes nobody talks about.

Part of that came from the man who raised me — my stepfather.

He was a Vietnam veteran, a man who carried the scars of war quietly, a man who served so others could live free. He studied law, graduated from UT Arlington, and fought battles nobody ever sees.

He inspired me so deeply that I followed his path.

That’s why I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business at UT Arlington — to walk the same halls he once walked, to honor the man who raised me with strength, discipline, and patriotism.

Before that, I earned an Associate Degree at Lewis University, where I also completed my Paralegal Certification. I studied because I wanted to understand systems. I wanted to understand people. I wanted to understand justice. I didn’t know it then, but I was preparing myself for the fights I would one day face.

Over the years, I kept learning — Applied Science at North Lake College, business studies at McMurray College — always trying to find where I belonged. I thought I might work for a law firm. Then I thought I might be better suited to running my own business. Eventually, I chose the latter. I built my own company in Texas, working with my hands, fixing homes, building systems, helping families. And I loved every minute of it.

But the writing never stopped.

That whisper — “write, scribe” — never left me.

I wrote novels like:

  •        The De La Rosa Series

  •        The Remora Series

  •        Elijah Kraig

  •        Born in Blood

  •        The Pearl

  •        The Heritage of Texas

  •        The Heartland of Texas

  •        The Soler, Texas Chronicles

I wrote about fallen heroes, unsung warriors, and men and women who gave everything so the rest of us can enjoy the freedoms we sometimes take for granted. I wrote about pain, sacrifice, duty, honor, and the quiet truth of what it means to serve a nation that may never know your name.

I wrote because I believe some people deserve to be remembered — even if the world forgets them.

I wrote because writing is how I breathe.

And now, I write because Texas — my home, my heart, my future — deserves a voice.

Today, people see me filing lawsuits, appeals, federal cases. They see me breaking down constitutional failures and standing alone in courtrooms where most people would never be allowed to speak. They see me fighting for structural fairness, accountability, and the soul of our system.

But underneath it all, I am still that same boy from Puerto Rico who heard a whisper telling him to write.

A scribe.

A storyteller.

A man who believes that the people who sacrifice the most should never go unnamed… and that the people who are ignored by the system deserve someone who will stand up for them.

This is my journey.

This is my purpose.

This is why I write.

This is why I fight.

This is why I love Texas with everything I have.

And this is why — no matter what comes next — I will always stand up, speak out, and write the truth as I see it.

Because the hand of God didn’t call me to be silent.

It called me to be a scribe.
